Jaralyn's training philosophy is based on the undisputed success of the classical training scale. Her approach with horses is systematic, empathetic, patient and repeatable. Her approach with students depends on each person's riding goals, experience and learning style. Whether you are just trying to enjoy your horse more harmoniously day-to-day or if you strive to ride down centerline and move up the levels, Jaralyn will work to exceed your expectations.
Jaralyn trains her own horses and a few select full training horses at her and her husband's Shepherd's Run Farm in Poolesville, MD. Ship-ins are welcome at Shepherd's Run, as the schedule allows.If you are looking for full-service boarding as well as training, Jaralyn is a trainer at Wyndham Oaks which provides the highest quality boarding environment in the area. There is frequently a waiting list, contact owner Lori Larson for information.

Full Training: training ride or lesson 3-4x/week, $55/ea
Half Training: training ride or lesson 2x/week $60ea
Private lesson or training ride 1x/week or less $70/ea
Clinic day rate $750 maximum 10 lessons/day, travel costs additional
Judging for schooling shows rates vary based on number of rides, distance, etc.
